Elegies

A place for all your Elegiac uploads.

Certain forms of music seem to always bring out the best in composers for the organ.
I'm thinking Elegies, Passacaglias, Fantasias and the like.
There are many Elegies here from old to modern.
Not surprisingly the Thalben-Ball Elegy heads the list as most uploaded.
His other Elegy from the Little Organ book is also there.

RE: Elegies

Playlists are an excellent feature, thank you, Andrew, for setting up this one well fitting into this time of the year!

RE: Elegies

Thanks for setting it up, Erzahler!
May I ask whether this was set up manually -- or is it some kind of auto-generated playlist by title/topic? If it's the latter, it would be interesting to know how this could be accomplished.

In case pieces have to be added manually, it could be worth noting that I just posted an updated version of my "Elegy In E" from 2015, because I was curious how it would sound on the F&H Kaiserdom set in comparison to the old Dluga Koscielna recording...
Sounds even more "elegiac" now! :-D

RE: Elegies

Thanks Carsten and I have added your Elegy.
I have done it manually and how I did it is to first establish and name the Playlist as normal then search for Elegy then open each piece and add it to the Elegy playlist.

RE: Elegies

Could I suggest the Frank Bridge Adagio in E? The one with the Solemn start and unusual harmonies..... or elargic?
