Has also been my experience. I've emailed with the website techno (Raymond) about this in recent weeks, sent him four screenshots of the hack-sites. My conclusion is that this will ALWAYS happen, if a website is not a secure ("https") website but an older and insecure ("http") site.

For me the "redirect-takeover of the CB website happens about 25-30% of the time I surf to the CB website.

I understand that without a MAJOR down-time and a COMPLETE rewrite of the entire website code, which will have to be done for ALL pages, Contrebombarde can NOT become a secure "https" website. Such a rewrite will take many weeks of labour by someone, and inevitably it will cost thousands of dollars.

I've had the same issue quite a few times recently, but ONLY when using Internet Explorer.

It has NOT happened when using Google Chrome.

Something tells me that all who had this happen to them just have a web hijacker on their computers from beforehand... you should all install a free trial of Malwarebytes and do a quick cleanup of your computers

If you are on IOS then malwarebytes isn’t available in the UK. It did used to be but is suspect this blasted EU data thingy....

For me I have McaFee for IOS which has malware protection in it,

My main pc does have malwarebytes because I have the premium version or paid for.

I agree malwarebytes would have crushed the pages.

I have been involved with webpackages whereby the owner can go in and alter the text etc....... I don’t know how the contrebombarde website is set up but I do get the impression that it is built ground up that isn’t being derogatory but reading the notes on the website and forum. Also the lack of emojis and other things that users expect these days etc.......

The packages I have used would let you recreate the pages as they are because you can copy and paste the text over into boxes in the page.

I also had a package called webpages that allowed me to write and upload my own website as well a companies intranet. It didn’t need much time to set up.

The other thing that was allowed forums with phpbb forums which would o0en more flexibility to add screen caps end emojis and whatever.....

There are other websites such as wixsite webpress, squarespace..... as the owners of the site hold the domain certificate you’d be able to move this over to the new site..... the only problem here 8s if you exceed space and download speeds then they will slow the site until you pay extra to do this.

Just saying.

More than happy to help if you need it.

Does your hosting provider not offer you SSL cetificate? I host my websites at Siteground and upgrade all sites from http:// to https:// which could help. But safety and security is getting tougher. And to safeguard wevsite via plugins, companies like sucuri has its price. We live in a violent world with cybercriminals teasing.
