Chimes

Does anyone know of a sample set which includes large, mellow, deep toned, chimes? Of course with a good organ. I'm aware of the Aeolian-Skinners and Reuter, but I'm hoping for something a little less expensive, or maybe something that can be added to any sampled organ.

Check out the Schantz from Organ Expressions.

RE: Chimes

I've been looking at that one but haven't heard any music that has the chimes. Do you know of a performance with them?

RE: Chimes

After listening closely to all recordings, I've concluded that my ears have chime filters in them. Can't hear any use of the chime stop, maybe the performance was deleted. Anyway, I've been learning to use the unique stop configuration of the Schyven/Van Bever and discovered that combining the Positif Flute 8'4' with Carillon 3ranks provides a suitable simulation of a chime. This organ is in such a reverberant building that it requires a completely different approach to registration and articulation. The stops are also challenging with as many as eight stops being activated by drawing one knob. I understand the theory of sampling multiple stops at the same time and it's fun to have a challenge learning to use them.

You can't hear the chimes at 2:53? Maybe I'm suffering from a condition where I hear chimes when they're not there LOL.

RE: Chimes

You're right, very faint and not many notes, but definitely chimes. Thanks, this will be my next purchase after recovering from Christmas.
