(Sorry I reposted it here to add to the discussion) I also tried doing a survey like this some time ago, and the results were also similar to this one (Also toppeb by Caen - indeed, a worthy sampleset!) Some comments: these organs are usually the most versatile ones on the market, and are (of course) large organs (The smallest one is Moseley for obvious reasons) - which means that Large organs do have a major market in HW. Some organs I would love to hear more: Laurenskerk transept organ, Apeldoorn, Stade and Arlesheim (Which I was suprised did not make the list!). Well, thank you Darryl for providing us with these statistics!

I would find it very interesting to have an overview per year. Probably you will see rises and falls in the popularity of sample sets

I'm finding these discussions rather interesting, but I agree with Trent, a smaller timeframe would make the data a bit more relevant and not skew the numbers (favoring older sets). Can we get this info for just 2014?

I think the severity scale goes like this: "there are lies, damn lies and then statistics" if I paraphrase Mark Twain correctly. However, you make a great point regarding the time a sample set has been on the market. Now everyone can add that consideration to how they look at this list. Unfortunately, we don't track the release date of the sample sets right now.

Interesting ... but don't you also need to consider the dates on which the sample sets were first published to get a true feel for popularity? Statistics are such fickle things to deal with. No doubt the Caen is a versatile workhorse, though, and deserves its no 1. ranking.
