Richard H. LaLumondier (b. 1942) is a composer based in Maryland and has served as organist and choir director at many churches in the Washington, DC metro area. He has written over 100 compositions, including many works for choir and organ.

“Three Liturgical Pieces based on a Secular Theme” (2005) is based upon a song (“Far from Me”) from the composer’s musical theater work “Michael/Michelle.” In this work, the song is re-imagined as musical material for a suite of solo organ pieces.
