Walter Saul (b. 1954) — Schlatter Chapel March (2001) for organ

Walter Saul (b. 1954) was educated at Duke University (AB) and the Eastman School of Music (MM and DMA) and studied composition with Samuel Adler, Warren Benson, Iain Hamilton, George Rochberg, and Joseph Schwantner, among others. He is Professor of Music at Fresno Pacific University, where he teaches piano, theory, composition, music history, and music appreciation. As a pianist, Saul has recorded several albums of his own piano music.

The composer writes: “This short march was named for Schlatter Chapel, an intimate and beautiful prayer chapel on the campus of Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon.”
