Eric Sweeney (b. 1948) — The Secret Rose (2002) for organ

Irish composer Eric Sweeney (b. 1948) was born in Dublin and has lived in Waterford since 1981 where he was Head of Music at Waterford Institute of Technology until his retirement in 2010. He has also taught at the Dublin College of Music and Trinity College and served as Choral Director for RTE (Irish Radio) from 1978–81. He has frequently visited North America and has held residencies at a number of American institutions. Sweeney has served as organist and choirmaster at Christ Church Cathedral in Waterford and studied organ with W. S. Greig, Flor Peeters, and Fernando Germani. He has given organ recitals throughout the world and is particularly known for his improvisations to silent movies.
