Not much is known about the English organist a and composer Henry Heron (1745 - 1795). This sprightly cornet voluntary with short introduction on the diapasons was included by Peter Hurford on his splendid LP of the Dutch organ at Eton College Chapel in 1974, which is where I first heard it.
For the slow intro I am using the Open and Stopped Diapasons on the Positive. The cornet movement showcases the Great Cornet V, with echo on the Swell "cornet decomposé". Accompaniment is on the Positive, adding the Principal 4 to the stops used in the introduction.
