Georg Philipp Telemann (1681–1767) was a German Baroque composer and multi-instrumentalist. He is not primarily known as a composer of music for organ. Nevertheless he did write a small body of chorale preludes. Some more elaborate then others, yet all beautifully crafted. This Choral prelude on “Christ lag in Todesbanden” is transcribed from manuscript Mus.ms. 22541 III owned by the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin.
