Composer: Correa, Antonio (Braga)
Sample Producer: OrganArt Media
Sample Set: 1684 García-Martínez, Frechilla, Spain
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Medieval and Renaissance
Description:
Very little is known about Antonio Correa (Braga). He was a Potugese composer
He probably wrote this piece around 1695.

It depicts the normal procedures in a Batalha:

Call to arms,
Fighting,
Regrouping,
Rejoicing victory (they never lost.....)
Attack or Counter Attack
etc.

Rather fun piece, which shows off the magnificent trompetteria of Frechilla very nicely.

As this organ is of a somewhat later date, it also has Plenum (Ple) and Cymbal stops, as well as 2, 2 2/3 and 1/1/3 foot stops.

I play this piece alternating on the plenum, 8,4,2 stops in various combinations, the Trompeta Real (encased trumpet) mixed with the ground stops, and the battle scenes on the horizontal trompetteria.
