Unless I miss my count, today, March 21, 2016 is the 331st birthday of the great Johann Sebastian Bach.
I wanted to pay homage to the master, but since I've got a lot of fairly intense music for Holy Week and Easter in the works, I really didn't have anything "ready" to play, until I came across these very nice arrangements made by Henry Coleman.
Richard Henry Coleman (3 April 1888 – 17 February 1965) was a cathedral organist, whose career culminated in his service at Peterborough Cathedral from 1921-1944.
These very attractive transcriptions were published by Oxford University Press, and I was pleased that my birthday offering as all set - until I see that BOTH of these works are attributed to the Dresden composer, Christian Petzhold (1677-1733), so, it appears that I am in error... :-(
