Widor probably needs no introduction, nor does this piece: a staple of the organist's repertoire for weddings!
I was having an odd day today - I think my tinnitus is causing me troubles - I just couldn't hit any new Flor Peeters pieces right so I gave up and had a moment of throwing everything on (even the Zimbelstern!) and playing my favourite piece for organ.
I'm not an exceptional Toccata player nor a pro, but I like to think I can pull off an adequate rendition of this piece for the occasional wedding (with odd duff note rolled in!)! The zimbelstern gets lost in the mix, but it is a nice touch I think - sure not everyone will like it, and I don't think I'd actually use it for a public performance, but see what you think!
I've always held off uploading a Widor's toccata as there are many better qualified people who can play this better and I tend to upload lesser known works as there are enough splendid renditions out there of 'famous' pieces that there is no reason to add to it - but I don't think there is one with a zimbelstern!
