Composer: Froberger, Johann Jakob
Sample Set: SP - Kiedrich, St. Valentinus and Dionysius
Software: Hauptwerk
Genre: Baroque
Description:
This is Toccata P.[rima] from the "Chigi IV.25" manuscript containing works of Frescobaldi and composers from his circle. The manuscript is preserved in the Vatican Library in Rome. As Bob van Asperen states, three toccatas from this manuscript can be assigned to Froberger due to specific composition techniques and similarities to Froberger's other toccatas. Copies of these works were probably made 1639-1641. A detailed discussion is given by Bob van Asperen in Concerto No. 244 (2009) [in German].
