Hans Friedrich Micheelsen (1902 – 1973) was a German composer and church musician.
He composed vocal music, organ music, and instrumental works.
A photo is attached.
He was perhaps not as prominent as the three more known composers of the church music renaissance in the 20th century, Johann Nepomuk David, Ernst Pepping and Hugo Distler, but he certainly is an important composer.
He had a great influence on the development of church music in the reformed tradition. Micheelsen primarily was a teacher and pragmatic.
The functionality of the church music was always foremost in his mind. He rather composed small and usuable music for services than creating yet another grand masterpiece for concert use.
This minuscule choral prelude is a fine example of his art.
