Ludwig (1943-2019) studied first mathematics and physics in Mannheim, then church music at the Hochschule für Kirchenmusik Heidelberg and voice and orchestral conducting in Mannheim. He worked in Mannheim, Kitzingen, and Regensburg. From 1978 to the end of 2008 he was cantor in Wiesbaden.
