Trivium was a bunch of three "liberal arts" teached in the Middle-Age : grammar, rethoric and dialectic.
I have no idea about the exact relation beetween the medieval trivium and this piece, but three things : the piece has three parts, its atmosphere has some medieval flavour and "Trivium"makes a beautiful and intriguing title.
