Composer: Smith, Lani
Sample Producer: OrganArt Media
Sample Set: 2012 Metzler, Poblet Abbey, Spain
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Pipe Duster
Description:
Bob (Mirabilis), who we haven't seen in the Concert Hall for a while contacted me yesterday because I had mentioned a Hauptwerk ready 4-manual keyboard stack I was trying to sell on eBay. He mentioned a piece I had recorded three times back in September of 2015, "A Resurrection Fanfare", indicating he had been listening to it while traveling. I had completely forgotten about this particular piece, which is in Volume 3 of "Pipe Dusters" ... a pull-out-all-the-stops collection for the church organist. (Lorenz Publishing Co.)

The previous recordings were (in reverse order):

Hereford Cathedral Willis:

Laurenskerk Main Organ (Big Marcussen):

It occurred to me another great organ to try this on would be the Poblet Metzler, so that's what you're hearing today ... and I think it's a rather spectacular sound. I also felt this was a more appropriate time of the year (shortly after Easter) to hear it.

I'll add the obituary of Lani Smith in the first comment. It's amazing the volume of organ compositions this person did in his lifetime.

P.S. Bob also indicated he is hoping to have a new upload shortly, which is excellent news.
