Variations on a Norvegian folk tune

Bjarne Slodegal (b. 1937) is a Norvegian composer from Kristiansand. These variations are based on a very moving and simple norvegian folk tune which later was used as a choral "O how glorious will it be for the children of God" :
- 0' : Koral = the theme (or choral) ;
- 0'54" Song, as a lied ;
- 1'55 : Floyteljod (The sound of the flute) : as a flute accompanied by a hurdy-gurdy drone ;
-3'39 : Langeleik (the name of a norvegian instrument like a zithar), with the theme on a pedal reed ;
- 4'44 : Fryde song (Song of joy) to conclude.

It was learned and recorded first on Salisbury. Then, the idea came "It could be great on Poblet". The atmosphere of the piece is so different on these two organs that I didn't want to merge the recordings in a single upload. Salibury (IMHO) enhances the "northern" and romantic, almost misty, side of the piece. On the other side, Poblet enlightens the néo-classical aspect of the piece : it almost becomes a different composition.
I guess there is nothing to compare, because these are two completely different worlds :
- Salisbury's victorian velvety flues, harmonic flutes, singing clarinet and orchestral oboe, octave couplings here and there, and tuba at the end ;
- Poblet with more precise but very smooth flues, singing quintadena, fantastic liquid and clear non-harmonic flutes, pedal clairon, chamades at the end, all without any octave coupling and with an acoustics which combines incredibly clarity and space.
