Description: | Here's a second upload of the same work which I posted last night - but on a different sample set which necessitates a different approach.
After using the recently-produced Poblet sample set last night I returned to an earlier creation - the sample set of the Hinsz organ in the Bovenkirk Kampen (from Milan Digital Audio).
The Poblet and Kampen organs are both in substantially reverberant spaces, but the sample set for the latter is significantly more "wet", so the interpretation calls for less legato and more detaching to maintain clarity.
Both sample sets are two-channel stereo - no surround. To my ears, Poblet has been recorded somewhat closer to the pipework, which puts the building's acoustics a bit further into the background relative to the pipe sounds. The Kampen instrument appears to have been recorded from further back in the building, so the expansive acoustic is more closely integral with the pipe sounds. The resulting wash of sound challenges the player to avoid muddiness.
Score and MIDI file are attached.
Registration is as follows:
RH (CF): Hoofdwerk Trompet 8, Tertian II
LH: Rugwerk Prestant 8, Octaaf 4, Fluit 4, Octaaf 2
PED : Subbass 16, Octaaf 8, Octaaf 4 coupled to Rugwerk |
