Meditation over "Wir sagen Euch an den lieben Advent"

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. The beginning of the Church's new year.

This attractive little miniature is by the contemporary German composer, Thomas Mohr. Mohr was born on September 30, 1964.

According to Google Translate, the title means: "We tell you of the sweet Advent," but I'm sure there is a better translation that that! :-)

The melody appears in the left hand, played upon the Vox Humana with tremulant, and the ostinato in the right hand is played upon the Gemshorn 4' of the Hoofdwerk, and played an octave lower.
