After a year away from HW for various reasons here is a quick recording of a little piece by Franck in a slightly modified version by Anne Marsden Thomas from the "Oxford Service Music - Manuals and Pedals Vol 1" book.

I quite like the eerie feeling of this piece when played on strings and flute.
I would have used the swell but the swell functionality on my current setup is too crude and rudimentary as to achieve anything approaching a decent result.

During recording of this piece I learned of the premature passing a year ago of Father Tim Wilby from Chorley, Lancashire, who was the kind and cheerful gentleman who arranged for my first organ teacher and allowed me to use the biggest organ in Lancashire for my ongoing lessons until I moved away from Chorley. I have very fond memories of Father Tim and I owe him a great amount of gratitude for making a long time dream come true. I have dedicated this recording, for what it's worth, to Father Tim.
