My third and probably last upload from
"Organ Book of American Folk Hymns," SMP, 1970.
This “folk-hymn” was published in the shape-note hymnal, “Southern Harmony,” in 1835. The short, raucous canon in Wood’s arrangement evokes the traditional shape-note singing style:
When I can read my title clear
To mansions in the skies,
I’ll bid farewell to ev’ry fear,
And wipe my weeping eyes.
I feel like I’m on my journey home.
Discrete Audacity reverb added..
