This is a setting for 2 manuals of the Duo from the Suite Ancienne (Opus 58)
I am very grateful to Agnus_Dei for all the music he uploads. Some are way beyond my capabilities but sometimes there are pieces that are a new discovery and well worth the effort of learning. Others, like the Archer Improvisation on St Annes Tune, are a real discovery to find that I had a copy but had passed it over as “just” for manuals only!
I only recently discovered this movement by Holloway and really love it. However,
1) I have small hands,
2) I have never learnt to thumb down and
3) I play a 2 manual instrument at church.
I tried playing from the original score, which divides into 4 staves, but this was still a little challenging. So - I have reset the piece in 3 staves with the 2 solo lines on the same stave.
I have attached a PDF of my score (it hardly counts as arranging as the notes are identical - I have just changed the layout) in case anyone else finds it useful.
I realise this performance may be quite different from the original intention of the suite as a concert piece but I think this works effectively as a prelude.
