Canadian composer Peter-Anthony Togni (b. 1959) was born in Pembroke, Ontario (the son of organist Victor Togni). He studed at the University of British Columia and the Schola Cantorum in Paris. His teachers include Jean Langlais, Stephen Chatman, and Allain Gaussin. Togni has had an active career as a broadcaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Company serving as the host of numerous programs, including That Time of the Night,” the award-winning Stereo Morning, and Choral Concert.” As a composer, Togni has written numerous works in many genres, including opera, orchestral music, chamber music, and choral works. As a performer, he has been active as an pianist, organist, and improviser and has given numerous recitals throughout Canada and Europe.
