There are two versions :

- Aristide n°1 (composite St-Ouen) at 1:42

Thierry Escaich (born 1965) is a well-known French composer in all types of music (piano, opera, chamber, symphonic). He is too an organist who suceeded the Duruflé's at Saint-Etienne du Mont in Paris.
He has written many fine organ works in a very personal style : modern but tonal and easy to listen to, often anguished and violent with very strong panting rythms.
This piece is the last verse from "5 versets sur le Victimae Paschali Laudes", and is typical from his output. I had planned to learn the five versets, but only one required such a good deal of work that I prefer to keep the other ones for later. I uploaded this one although it still requires a good deal of work :-(

Aristide (St Ouen) and the big Marcussen have each one their advantages and drawbacks. The Marcussen enhances better the percussive character of the piece. But Aristide enhances better the dynamics in the middle of the piece.
