Description:
Finally back to my Psalmprovisations-electronica series. (BTW New Years Resolution - to get to al least Ps. 50 by the end of '13... we'll see)

Psalm twenty seven is much loved and much quoted. Usually understood as a psalm of faith, which of course it is; though I see as well elements of uncertainty, anger, and even desperation.

I have woven this brief work out of four disparate elements, each indicating an emotional 'state'. Three of the elements are realized on the organ, the fourth is a static synthesizer patch that might best be described as a saw tooth wave within a large sine wave. The synthesizer element is constant throughout once it begins about 2 seconds into the piece. The other three elements are reiterated by means of digital looping.

The effect is at first 'minimalist' I think, though I would never describe myself as a minimalist, even in passing...

Especially to those of you who don't fancy this sort of experimentation, I thank you for your indulgence!
