Composer: Bingham, Seth
Sample Producer: Lavender Audio
Sample Set: Hereford Cathedral Willis Organ
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Modern
Description:
The third prelude, "3 - Morewellham" is a very lovely piece that gives the Solo Gamba and Celeste the chance to be used as a solo in the tenor register. The tune later appears on the Solo Clarinet.

I debated whether to "do a dimuendo" at the end, or to leave it "as is". I chose the later, as the tune seems to "arrive" at the end, rather than decay.

I'm SURE that I DO know this melody, but I could not find it any hymnal under the name of Morewellham".

The piece is dedicated to W. Russell Bowie, and I give the first verse of the hymn as follows:

O Holy City, seen of John,
Where Christ, the Lamb, doth reign,
Within whose four-square walls shall come
No night, nor need, nor pain,
And where the tears are wiped from eyes
That shall not weep again!
