Description:
Elias Oechsler was born 1850 in Spielberg/Fichtelgebirge. After being educated to become a teacher he studied music in Munich, among others with Rheinberger (organ) and Wüllner (conducting). In 1888 he became director of the Institute fur Church Music in Erlangen, following Johann Georg Herzog. Oechsler died 1917 in Erlangen.
