Composer: Sweelinck, Jan Pieterszoon
Sample Producer: OrganArt Media
Sample Set: 1684 García-Martínez, Frechilla, Spain
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Medieval and Renaissance
Description:
A long time ago our member Hoofdwerk produced a CD called "Leo Belgicus", Organ music of the Spanish Netherlands.
It is a fine CD, I can recommend it to anyone; music by Cornet, Kerckhoven and others.
He played it on Santanyi, a wonderful instrument.

Having two very good historic Spanish organ samplesets now, it seemed a nice idea to do a Sweelinck piece on it; the famous balletto, to see if it would work equally well on them as Erik's recordings on Santanyi..

So here is the Balletto del Granduca.
Hope you like the result.

Five variations, the first the theme.
After the fifth one, the theme is repeated on the trompetteria of the organ, so that the people dancing graciously in a sophisticated Salon of a Stately Mansion will know when they'd better stop ....

Pictures of the organ and church are by Organ Art Media.
