Description: | When I made certain suggestions to Auke Jongbloed's upload of this piece by Johann Kuhnau, he suggested and welcomed an alternate recording of it. Here it is.
I am not using the Martini organ, but the French Baroque organ of St. Michel en Thierache, because of its breathtaking flutes, but then got inspired to add the Voix Humaine 8', and so together with the Montre 8', Flute 4', GO Bourdon 8', and the amazing Flute Allemande from the Positiv, together with the tremulant doux.
It's perhaps an unusual approach, but the feeling of human voices wailing and begging God from the depth of their dispair seems to have been captured quite well, I think.
As I have an eye infection right now, a few notes were misread, but the typos in this message have now been corrected. |
