I continue my "series" of Elegy(s) by English composers. I've uploaded the "famous" one by G. T. Thalben-Ball, also two others by Charles Harford Lloyd and Sir Herbert Brewer.
This was written by Sir C. Hubert H. Parry (1848-1918) for the funeral of Sidney, 14th Earl of Pembroke April 7, 1913.
It wasn't published until 1922, after the composer's death by his 2nd wife Lady Elizabeth Maude Perry.
I added a little more "room" to this recording.... the composer called for detached playing in several places throughout this composition.... to me it didn't "sing" without an approximation of the acoustics found in the great cathedrals of England. I used 2c Breeze.
