Buying "used" sample sets


I would like to hear from users who have had the opportunity to purchase a "used" sample set on websites, depending on whether or not you need an upgrade to the USB key on HW4 or the license on HW5. What security can they offer? Thanks in advance.

With HW IV: none. Since MDA doesn't support license transfers anymore. So if anyone tries to sell you a former encrypted sampleset for HW 4, it's illegal.
With HW5 and 6, when the sampleset is encrypted through Ilok, it's legal to buy it second-hand.

Thanks for your explanation. Then, the Caen sample-set for HW4 could be bought second-hand legally?

No. I was talking about encrypted samplesets for HW 4, 5 & 6.
Selling and buying unencrypted sample sets (Caen = unencrypted) is illegal.
Although, I don't know how this is juridical, but it's obvious that someone can keep a copy of an unecrypted sample set for himself, after selling it.
With encrypted sample sets (via ILok) that's not possible.
