Agnus Dei is one short of 3000 pieces being posted to this site.

I hope Agnus Dei doesn’t mind me mentioning this but he will have uploaded 3000 pieces with his next upload. I think congrats are in order. Keep up the good work. Your pieces and playing are to be commended. Congrats David

Congratulations David!!

We all eagerly await the next upload and no doubt many more.

David’s work has been inspiring to me and he has opened my eyes to an undiscovered treasure of organ music. Add to that his superb musicanship, careful and sometimes surprisingly inventive registrations, and his incredibly complete uploads with scores, background information, photographs. He has created a gold standard reference collection for us, and one from which I will draw inspiration for years to come!! I really think he must be the reincarnation of WTBest or another legendary English organist!!

Thank you David for being Superman!!!

Just to put that into perspective it is like recording about 200 CDs... incredible.

It's not a competition.
Both Carson & David do a tremendous job with their daily uploads.
David with his many uploads of mainly British organ music and Carson with his many uploads of contemporary organ music.
Both have broadened my horizons in respectively Britisch and contemporary organ music.

And here's me who has been here longer than both of them with a mere 380 odd haha. Long way to catch up!! But yes I do enjoy them both - as I enjoy all people who have found a niche on here and provide something different that makes this place so varied and fortunately not just 50 pieces of Bach a day.

Hope you read this, David - it's also a "collective thankyou" to your work here. I certainly say thanks, knowing you're one of the most respected members here.

Here's number 3000 for those who are wondering:

My VERY SINCERE THANKS to dreece1 for starting this thread, and my equally sincere thanks to all those who took the time and trouble to listen to #3000 and to leave their comments and good wishes!

It is true that I don't "participate" on the Concert Hall as much as I used to.

The real reason/issue with that is my hearing. I no longer listen to any organ music for "enjoyment," and when I record, I have to stuff pieces of tissues in my ears to deaden the vibration a bit and block some of the distortion.

So, it is true that I don't listen and comment much any more, and I'm sorry for that. I do listen as much as I can, and still try to express my thanks and appreciation for and to other members.

Someone recently sent me as message that I had become "selfish" and that it was "all about me."

I'm sorry if it seems that way, as it's NOT my intention, but there isn't much I can do about it.

I guess I'm a real mess, but also have severe nerve damage and pain, and there are days it's actually hard just to get around, but, the desire/need/obsession to continue to perform and to record is a hard-driving, so, I just keep doing it.

I'm not asking for praise or sympathy, but did want to explain myself a bit.

Sorry to go on, but I did want to respond here with the hope that a fair number of people will see that I am extremely grateful for the caring friendship and support that I receive here. It DOES help, believe me.

I'll do my best to continue to return the care and friendship in return. :-)

Peace to All,

David

David,
As you know it's been a long time since I've been able to even LISTEN to CB (let alone upload - I sent you an email on that subject) but I join all the above in sending you my heartiest and most heartfelt congratulations on this incredible milestone. I've said it before and I'll say it again: in my humble opinion you are a National Treasure and the legacy you have created here will live on long after you graduate to heaven (which I sincerely hope is MANY, MANY years away!) and will continue to inspire organists worldwide for years to come. It has been a pleasure to call you a friend even though we've never met face to face. May God continue to add His richest blessings to you and Gale for many years to come. Keep 'em coming, my friend!
