Platform to dampen noise from midi pedalboard?
Hi all,
I'm about to pick up a pedalboard and other hardware from midiworks.ca, near Toronto. Before I do this, I'm wondering how worried I should be about key noise from the pedals, and whether I should do anything to dampen it. The pedalboard I'm picking up is this one: https://www.midiworks.ca/index.php?option=com_opencart&route=product/product&path=2&product_id=38
The organ is going to go on an area with wooden floor (on the left side of this image: https://imgur.com/a/i3q0qed ). There is no one underneath, but I'm in a townhouse with neighbours on the side, and the space is live enough that noise might echo throughout the house.
An idea I had was of building a tennis ball riser, as some drummers do for their kits. Is that overkill? Would the riser even support that might weight (myself + manuals, desk, pedalboard computer, bench)? I'm wading into new territory for me, so if anyone has experience of how noisy these are and how effective solutions for reducing noise would be, I'd love to hear what you have to say!
