Ostinato Diptych on a Sorbian Easter Chorale (2017)

Ostinato Diptych on a Sorbian Easter Chorale (2017) is dedicated to Feliks Brojer (Felix Bräuer) and is based on a Sorbian Easter hymn: “Tón cyły swět so raduje” (“The whole world is full of joy—hallelujah!”). In each movement the chorale is heard in straightforward manner along with an ostinato pattern.

For the prelude, an ostinato based on the first phrase of the chorale accompanies the melody. For the postlude, a pulsing ostinato cycles under the tune.
