A new Schnitger sample set in my little collection, and a very fine one. Generously gifted to me (via a license transfer) by a fellow Contrebombarde-member.

What better way then to start with one of my favourite Buxtehude pieces. The first time I heard this piece was on my first organ CD by Sietze de Vries on the Schnitger organ of Uithuizen, Holland. I've loved it ever since.

The contrast between the first movement (stringent, structured) and the second one (almost improvisatory) is very nice.
