Written 2008. From the composer: "In Greek history, an epithalamion (or epithalamium) was a song in praise of bride and bridegroom, sung by children at the door of the nuptial chamber. The song included incantations, blessings and predictions of happiness. This music was actually composed for a wedding, and while there is a processional character overall, a gentle and sometimes giddy energy pervades the work. For the 8’ solo sound, consider a reed of lyric quality, or a cornet."
