Composer: La Montaine, John
Sample Producer: Milan Digital Audio
Sample Set: Our Lady of Mt. Carmel E.M. Skinner
Software: Hauptwerk IV
Genre: Modern
Description:
A rarely heard composition from the 1950’s has been my latest project. John La Montaine wrote this hauntingly beautiful work in 1952 for organist and business partner Paul Sifler, who performed it at St. Paul’s Chapel, Trinity Parish, New York. It was later performed by Searle Wright at Westminster Abbey in 1955.

I, again, chose the Mt. Carmel E. M. Skinner sample set as the vehicle for this performance and included the Great “Diapason Celeste” which I had “created” for the two Sowerby pieces I recorded earlier. “Lush” takes on a whole new meaning with these E. M. Skinner sounds.
