Description: | Hello, friends! This is only the second recording I've made with the 1928 E.M. Skinner at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. I'd appreciate any critique/suggestions you'd be willing to give concerning my registrations. Thank you!
Hymns to Help Us Through – #41 – “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”...
Hello, everyone!!
Sometimes we need a hymn to remind us that if we step out in faith, God is already there to receive us! This hymn is one of those that I’ve returned to time and again through the years in just such moments. I pray that it’s coming to you in just such a moment, too! (In my heart and mind, this hymn is one of the best combinations of words and tune – and a good Welsh tune at that!) :)
By the way, you’ll definitely want to use headphones – the sound of this pipe organ is amazing!! (Be sure to start the volume low.) The words for today’s hymn are below, in case you want to sing along! :)
“Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah”
Tune: Cwn Rhondda
Guide me, O thou great Jehovah,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
hold me with thy powerful hand;
Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven,
feed me till I want no more,
feed me till I want no more.
Open now the crystal fountain,
whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through;
strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
be thou still my strength and shield,
be thou still my strength and shield.
When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside;
death of death and hell’s destruction,
land me safe on Canaan’s side;
songs of praises, songs of praises
I will ever give to thee,
I will ever give to thee.
Amen.
Blessings! :)
