Written as part of Sergei Rachmaninoff's monumental choral work the 'All Night Vigil' in 1915, this piece has transcended its original inception and is a popular choral piece performed in cathedrals around the world. I adapted this for organ a few years ago, and just recently was able to re-engrave it using Dorico. (See attached score)
This provides a nice respite from the more bombastic playing I have been doing of late, and illustrates the flue work of the Peterborough organ fairly well. There are some artifacts in tuning and reverberation that I noticed in part of this piece while changing registrations that I will have to play around with, but overall I feel this has a nice effect.
