And new to me too, 2-1/2 years later. And there are quite a number of his music uploads here. Discovered him on the youtube channel of organum1000 (an interesting collection of organ and french harmonium pieces there, btw). And gratis scores on imslp and free-scores, well worth exploring.
Bravo for playing this piece so well! I especially like its subtle emotionalism.

P.S.: I did make a comment earlier, apparently, but it doesn't hurt to rediscover Petrali again and hear it with evolved ears.
Belated thanks for your extensive second comment, Adri.
And thanks for the info on organum1000: gonna have a look! I thought cobtrebombarde was the only gathering place for organ nuts. :-)
Petrali is a fine composer, and obviously more people think so as there are quite some pieces by him on various platforms.
I love romantic music and played a lot of Reger, French stuff, Liszt etc.
Glad you like this; probably the Italians turned romantic in the early days somewhat sooner than the rest of Europe. :-)
Thanks Edo, I have been elevated thanks to this music for organ from Petrali written in a rather severe style with conviction. Thoughtful music that weaves around in an almost spellbinding way.
Thanks, Ralph.
It is something quite different from what I usually play, but a nice trip to Italy.
It is a bit operatic-romantic and sounds surprisingly well on the Annaberg Walcker Eule organ.
Thanks for your kind comment and also for listening!
An interesting and little known author. Although Italian, I only came to know him thanks to the Concert Hall, where we find renditions of some of his works. Thanks for this beautiful and convincing performance.
Thanks, Pietro.
I did not know him either, but stumbled on him when looking for Elevationes on IMSLP.
Obviously he was a very good composer and quite well known in his time.
Glad that you like this piece and thanks again for your kind comment and listening to my uploads.
Thanks, adri.
He seems to have been quite an authority in his time; I never heard of him before either.
He wrote a lot of organ music and some of it can be found on IMSLP.
Thanks, Helmut, glad you like this piece.
It fits the big Walcker very well indeed, as it is quite a romantic piece and this instrument has lots of choice of soft stops.
