Thank you for your question Fred!

We have been sent requests for some time now from users asking if we could have a forum feature on the site. Having our own forum means that the CB community will have more ways of communication directly on the site. This way if you would like to post about CB related topics, you can do so on CB and no longer need to go out of the site to do so.

Also, a lot of our users do not know of the forums in hauptwerk.com or pcorgel.nl. They visit CB directly to listen/comment on uploaded pieces.

In short, having a local forum makes it easier for users to interact and communicate on CB. With that being said, the websites you've mentioned have great forums, and we aren't trying to take anything away from them! We strongly recommend in posting on all forums if you like, and to get involved with all aspects of the online community.

Has this answered your question?

Well, CBAdmin, it's always a great thing to see CCH improving! :-)

If the coffee-to-code transformation guys are open for suggestions, a 12 year old relict of my youth might come in handy to transform any(!) URLs in a given text (...such as a forum post...) into their respective hyperlinks.

http://whirlpool.media-culture.de/download/apps/network/URLMatch_1.1.0-php4.zip contains a PHP4 script to accomplish exactly that, which should require only minimal or even no modifications to run under PHP 5 or 7. Please feel free to use it, if you wish.

Have fun,
Carsten

Hi Carsten,

Thank you for your suggestion! We will add this script to our next forum update :)

Proud to hear that! :-)
Please feel free to contact me via PN, should you have any questions or feature requests. (I know the PCRE in the script is quite complex, but I hope I did well on documenting it.) ;)
