Again, I have the pleasure to present a Psalm partita composed by Paul Ritchie (many thanks, Paul!). This Partita on Psalm 136 was written to take on a Dutch Organ Tour in 2013, a tour which included a visit to Kampen. It was subsequently revised and extended with the addition of Partitas 8 and 10. In some Dutch churches the psalm tune is sung with a C natural instead of a C sharp, and this was pointed out to Paul when he played some of the movements on the magnificent Marcussen organ in the Nicolaikerk, Utrecht.

The first public performance of this composition was on 7th January 2015 in Blackburn Cathedral by Shaun Turnbull.
