Lyndell Leatherman (b. 1953) — Acclamation (2013) for organ
Lyndell Leatherman (b. 1953) was born in Kansas, the son of an accomplished church musician mother, his first music teacher. He continued his education at Olivet Nazarene University and Illinois State University. Leatherman was the music editor at Lillenas Publishing for 20 years (1977–97) and was deeply involved in the development of the “Sing to the Lord” hymnal (1993). Since 1997 he has been active as freelance musician and as sacred music editor for the FJH Music Company. In addition to his publishing activities, Leatherman has served in various musical capacities in local churches since the age of 13, often as organist, pianist, or music director.
