Sr. Edith Scholl — Monastic Meditation (1962) for organ

Sr. Edith Scholl, OCSO received a B.M. from the University of Michigan where she studied composition with Ross Lee Finney and Homer Keller. In 1956, she entered Mount Saint Mary Abbey, a contemplative community of Cistercians (Trappistines.) Over the years she has written music for her community’s liturgy and has also published a few choral works.

“Monastic Meditation” was composed in 1962 at the suggestion of Omer Westendorf, editor and founder of World Library Publications.
