Well, I definitely don't have Leo "The MIDI Master" Chris' editing skills, but I was so curious to hear what one of my favourite SNES game soundtracks would sound like on a real organ.

The soundtrack rips from the SNES ROM are available on the web in the so-called "SPC" format, which contains raw audio coprocessor commands and the corresponding sample sound bank.

Using a tool called "SPC2MIDI", I converted these SPC tracks into (yes, you're right) MIDI files, but since they were somewhat broken and not playable through Hauptwerk directly, I had to do a little post-processing with Sibelius. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to integrate MIDI program change messages using Sibelius, so the registration was done manually during playback, "al gusto" and based on my "bread and butter" stop combinations.

In case you want to play around a bit with the MIDI by yourself, then please feel free to download it from the attachments of this post.
As a reference, the linked YT video contains the original soundtrack as it is produced on the SNES gaming console.

For those who own a 7.1 surround system, an 8-channel FLAC file can be picked up here to get an impression of what it will sound like in my living room:

- Player: Current versions of Media Player Classic are able to properly play multi-channel FLAC files.
