Well, Sunday afternoon again and it's back to some Frederic Curzon (1899 - 1973) and the Schultze organ in Armley, Leeds, UK. Last week I uploaded "Bonaventure" by the same composer http://www.contrebombarde.com/concerthall/music/21953
This week we have perhaps his most famous work, "March of the Bowmen" from his Robin Hood Suite. Curzon was head of light music at Boosey and Hawkes and it is gratifying to see that they still publish his music to this day!
So, here we have a rousing British march played on a fine northern organ, beautifully captured by David Butcher at Lavender Audio in glorious 6 channel surround sound.
