Björk Guðmundsdóttir (1965), known mononymously as Björk, is an Icelandic singer, composer and actress. Over her four-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a wide range of influences and genres spanning electronic, experimental, IDM, classical, Jazz, and avant-garde styles.

Selmasongs: Music from the Motion Picture Soundtrack 'Dancer in the Dark'. It was released on September 18, 2000. In the film Björk starred as Selma Ježková, a Czech immigrant who has moved to the United States. The album features classical arrangements, as well as melodies and beats composed of sounds from mundane objects, such as factory machines and trains.
The Overture is a solemn orchestral piece here transcribed for organ by Marco Lo Muscio.
