German composer Matthias Hippe (1946–2004) was educated in Bayreuth and worked as a cantor and teacher in Erlangen, Schweinfurt, Bad Windsheim, Traunstein, and Bayreuth. He published a number of compositions and also edited several multi-composer collections. Hippe was killed tragically in 2004 in a car accident.
