François Couperin (1668-1773) certainly needs NO introduction. The original harpsichord version appears as 'Le Trophée' in 'Pièces de clavecin, Quatrième Livre, Vingt-deuxième Ordre: I.' This version was arranged for organ by E.Power Biggs and appears in ‘The Biggs Book Of Organ Music’, titled 'The Trophy'.
Interestingly, Biggs recorded this piece on the Silbermann organ in Arlesheim (now available from OrganArtMedia) in an album called 'Historic Organs of Switzerland' back in 1967, before the Metzler work. He played it on an 8' Bourdon.
I used the Copula Major 8'
